Isabelle Côté

Isabelle is a recent graduate from Queen’s University with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. She specialized in biomechanical engineering, taking a special interest in courses that pair a technical aspect with a human impact. Isabelle also enjoyed courses in psychology, environmental science and music, her favourite of which involved teaching music to a fourth grade class. This course allowed Isabelle to share her passion for working with children while gaining experience in a classroom setting.

Isabelle has a diverse range of interests including playing the piano, dancing ballet, jazz, contemporary and lyrical. Her passion for music led her to complete the Grade 9 Royal Conservatory of Music Exam, play the flute in her high school band and compete in numerous music festivals. She is also a certified tennis coach, and taught children ages 4-15 at the Kingston Tennis Club Summer Camp for three years. With her love of the outdoors she can often be found practicing with her ultimate Frisbee team, playing soccer, or exploring Kingston’s hiking trails.

All of these made Isabelle the perfect person for designing and directing the Kingston STEAMworks Summer Camp. The past 2 summers have allowed her to combine her passions and provide Kingston youth with an enriching "Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-and-Mathematics" filled summer. Isabelle believes that given a positive academic experience at a young age, students will be confident and enthusiastic about the challenges and opportunities that await them.
