Mathematics & English, Examinations Portfolio
Kathleen Donally

Kathleen Donally earned a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Mathematics from Queen’s University with a dual focus in Number Theory/Cryptography and Pure Mathematics. In addition to mathematics, she also studied English literature, ranging from Fantasy to Romanticism. This uniquely diverse set of courses prepared her for the Bachelor of Education program at Queen's University, where she specialized in Math and English for the intermediate and senior levels.

Her passion for learning and critical thinking is displayed in each lesson she delivers. While most would see Math and English as two mutually exclusive subjects, she explores how critical thinking and problem solving in math can be related to the process of analyzing literature and developing persuasive arguments.

Starting in September 2018, she will be working towards a Master's in Mathematics for Teachers, part-time and by correspondence, with the University of Waterloo. Combining a deeper exploration of core mathematical concepts with modern pedagogical practices, this program is an exciting opportunity to develop innovative approaches to math education.
