Phoebe Jones

Ms. Jones is a graduate of both Trent University where she majored in Psychology with a focus in Child Development and Queen’s University where she completed her Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior) with an emphasis on Outdoor and Experiential Education.

She brings with her a passion for the outdoors, any water related activities and first aid. She has spent the last 9 years working in Outdoor Education in various locations across Canada including RKY Camp (Parham, ON), Camp Elphinstone (Gibsons, BC), Camp Kawartha (Peterborough, ON), and Camp Ten Oaks (Parham, ON). Nothing makes her happier than learning a new campfire song and you may even find her singing them on her own!

During her undergrad she served as Trent University’s Emergency First Response Team’s training coordinator where she lead fortnightly trainings on MSK, neurological, and abdominal assessments and treatments. She has also worked with the Medical Council of Canada and the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada for the past 10 years where she is allowed to combine her passion for wellness with her passion for education.

Ms. Jones also worked with the Canadian Deaf Blind Association as an intervenor where she developed a repertoire of alternative learning strategies and communication methods.

Before working at Leahurst Ms. Jones taught with the Limestone District School Board in grade 5/6 and worked as a Home Hospital Tutor for students struggling with mental health. She’s excited to bring her passion for education to the halls of Leahurst.
