Jen Leonard

Ms. Leonard is new to Kingston and Leahurst College.  She was born and raised in Markham, Ontario and went to school in St. Catharines. She received a B.Sc. in Mathematics and a B.Ed. in Intermediate/Senior Mathematics and Geography, from Brock University.

After graduating from university, Ms. Leonard spent two years with Sylvan Learning, tutoring young students in mathematics. It was during those years that she realized most kids get stumped on the same issues in math, and now knows what areas she needs to focus on in her math classes.

Ms. Leonard then went on to Blyth Academy in Thornhill, where she taught Grades 9-12 Math. For the past two years, she has been living in Idaho with her partner, who was completing his postdoc at the University of Idaho. Since it was during the pandemic, Ms. Leonard was able to work from home and teach all her courses online.

She is also an avid tap dancer and has been dancing since she was 10 years old. She danced competitively all through university and taught for three years. Ms.Leonard also boasts a rather large collection of Rubik's Cubes and is a huge fan of lacrosse, with annual season tickets for the Toronto Rock.
